And for the new Storm Moon Press anthology calls!
Queer Fear
Deadline: October 1st, 2012
Expected publication date: February 15th, 2013
It’s long been known that fear and arousal create the same type of response inside the human body. Putting them together, then, is a recipe for a scorchingly hot time. Queer Fear does just that by exploring the world of erotic horror. It’s the ultimate marriage of lust and terror, and we want to see your take on it.
What we’re looking for is dark horror elements blended with sensuality and erotic content. We’re not talking about splatterpunk or torture porn here: we want horror, not gore. Stories containing dubious or uncertain consent are fine, but avoid blatant rape. This anthology is open to all flavors of erotic content, any variation of the QUILTBAG. Due to the nature of horror, happy endings are by no means required or expected. Submissions should be between 8,000 and 12,000 words and can be of any horror subgenre.
Legal Briefs
Deadline: October 15th, 2012
Expected publication date: January 18th, 2013
We at Storm Moon Press are aware of the legal struggles many within the QUILTBAG face, and we know the valuable service Lambda Legal provides. Legal Briefs is a charity anthology we have chosen to put together with all net proceeds donated to Lambda Legal.
We’re seeking short stories between 5,000 and 10,000 words that star gay, lesbian, bisexual, and trans* characters and carry a legal theme. The stories must be erotic, romantic, or both in nature. We will choose twenty (20) stories to include, five (5) from each type, to include in the anthology. We seek publication rights for two (2) years, and we would like the exclusive rights to print the short stories for the first year. This is a non-paying market as this is for charity.
Submissions can be sent to editor@stormmoonpress.com with LEGAL BRIEFS – STORY TITLE – AUTHOR in the subject line. Please attach submissions as an .RTF and use 12pt Times New Roman font with double spacing. Include an author bio.
GLBT Coffee Break Quickies
Deadline: November 15th, 2012
Expected publication date: March 8th, 2013
Ah, the allure of the office romance. The sly smiles across the room as you wonder if anyone else knows. The danger of being caught by the boss. The thrill of those stolen moments in the copy room or supply closet. It’s this feeling that we want to condense, distill, and capture in the short shorts of GLBT Coffee Break Quickies.
Submissions should be between only 2,000 and 5,000 words. All genres are acceptable as long as the office romance theme is carried through, and all variations of the QUILTBAG are welcome. While a happy ending is not strictly required due to the shortness, we still want upbeat and fun stories with a sensual and erotic edge. Accepted submissions will be paid a flat $50 payment, will not be released as individual titles, and we seek exclusive rights for two (2) years.

And lastly, our permanent line call.
Modified
Life takes us down a very twisted path, but one thing nearly everyone attempts along the road is to make their bodies reflect who they feel they are on the inside. For some, that means piercings. For others, it means extensive tattoos. And for a select few, it means more extreme modifications, from splitting the tongue to long-term corsetry to horn or whisker implants. In the world of body modification, there are few limits to the changes that can be made to the human form. In our open line, Modified, we’re seeking stories that explore and celebrate the broad expanse of body modification.
This line has endless possibilities spanning all genres. Feel free to play with the aspect of body modification as ‘other’ in a horror, science fiction, or worldpunk setting. You can play with the practices being ritualistic or otherworldly. Perhaps a horrific accident that left a character scarred makes them uniquely beautiful on another planet, where the natives practice scarification. What if a member of the royal navy takes great pleasure in tattooing or branding a certain pirate? We’d love to see the extreme body mods as well, so don’t shy away from the subdermal or extraocular implants, ear shaping, or even genital alterations. Controversial modifications are also welcome and can carry realistic consequences to the characters, but always remember to keep the story’s romantic and erotic elements in the forefront. So long as everything is presented in a positive, respectful manner with an eye for beauty and acceptance, we would love to see it!
Your imagination is your only limitation: every part of the QUILTBAG is welcome for this line, and we are especially looking forward to seeing some of the less common letters represented in your submissions! Just make sure the story is 20,000 words or more.
