Erin Sneath

Author's Biography:

Erin Sneath was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada and mostly grew up on Stoney Lake. She majored in Film Studies at Ryerson University in Toronto, where she lived in a vibrant housing co-operative downtown. Since then, she has worked on a number of short films and videos of her own, as well as those from other directors, usually as a video editor. She has a number of screenplays under her belt, most of them for shorts. She has written two pilots for offbeat, nerdy sitcoms that she hopes to produce someday with a group of local actors.

She has worked as a call centre operator, a videographer, a video editor, a photo manipulation artist, a barista, a sandwich maker, a cashier, a luggage salesperson, a video store clerk, and a nanny. While she misses the free movie rentals from the video store, working as a nanny has its perks. It is the only domestic job where your supervisor thinks you're the boss. Also, watching babies grow from hairless, tailless monkeys into people who can hold a conversation is pretty entertaining.

Currently, she is working on her first novel, a horror story for a young adult audience, inspired by her own former high school. She also has another feature screenplay in the works, which is a science fiction comedy about redemption and consent. No really, it's meant to be funny. She also writes for Answer Print, the Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers magazine, and for PressPlus1.

She lives in Calgary with her husband, his cat, and two budgerigars. She loves watching movies of any genre, traveling anywhere, singing, camping, hiking, and playing story-based RPGs. She has been trying to teach herself the ukulele, but often skips practicing in favor of writing. Someday, she will find the time to try juggling.
