Devin Wood was born and raised in sunny southern California. The third of four children (one boy and three girls), her parents are still together after close to thirty-five years of marriage. She gets along with all three of her siblings and never really went in for the whole teenage rebellion thing. On the whole, her life has been relatively quiet, with little drama to it, and so she found her drama by immersing herself in books. It was only a matter of time before she began to think about creating her own stories.
Devin's first attempts were, admittedly, not the best, but she kept at it. Thanks to encouragement and help from teachers and friends, she has continued to refine her writing skills. With each story she has written, she has learned something new about being a writer. In the meantime, as a way to support herself financially, she went to college, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from California Baptist University.
At the moment, Devin is trying to get into a Master's program to study history. Though she enjoys sharing knowledge, her true passion is writing. She is happiest in front of a computer or with a notebook and pen in hand, spinning tales. Or, barring that, she gladly reads, watches movies, or plays computer games: anything with a good story will draw her in; the medium does not matter. Her first short story was published in March 2013 by Elm Books in the anthology Death and the Detective.
